Wii

As one of the hottest items on the world market today the Nintendo Wii had revolutionised the gaming industry. Its new age gaming method had never before been seen in any household console whilst it is being copied by other console manufactures its style has yet to be threatened let alone matched. It has changed gaming from the love of teens to the enjoyment of the whole family.

The Wii's games are controlled via a wireless had held controller that not only senses the push of a button but also (and this is the clincher) the movement of the controller is self. It responds to movement in all directions as well as tilting and twisting. At the time the wii was released people where playing games whilst leaning to turn corners and ducking to avoid things but to no avail. The Wii gave games the chance to have all these movements count. A good example of this is in the Wii Sports game, boxing. Control of you Mii's (the character you play as) hands is done by you moving you hands and arms in the right way to achieve a variety of punches, including jabs, body hits and upper cuts, whilst the movement of your Mii itself can be done by leaning left, right, forwards or backwards.

My family has a Wii and we enjoy playing the games together as well as creating different Mii's. I work in a shop selling Wii's and have experienced first hand the high demand for the Wii. I have seen the sad look on many a persons face as they have been told yet again that we do not have any in and the joy on peoples faces when they hear that we have them in. I have seen the odd argument between customers about who will get one of the consoles as well as a family trying to use a special needs son as a reason we should save a Wii for them. It's a fast selling consol that is fun for all the family.
