Wii Controllers

The Wii is controlled using a wireless remote (called a Wiimote). Into this you can plug a Nunchuck. The Wiimote is wireless and responds to the movement of your hand and arm. The Nunchuck is used to act as the other hand and can also be used for moving characters using the thumb stick on top.

In order to use a new remote on your Wii you need to synchronise the two.

To do this you first have to remove the back panel (where the batteries are) where you will find a red button. Open up the front panel of your Wii where you will find a bigger, rectangular red button. Press both of these buttons at the same time and It will synchronise the remote with the Wii allowing you to play.

As Game Cube games can be played on the Wii Nintendo have made a "Classic Controller" that simply plugs into the Wii and gives you the controls used for Game Cube games.
